Incoming mail covers must be free of any markings, drawings, graffiti, etc.  Mail with such markings that is not detected by the U.S. Postal Service is contraband and will not be distributed to the inmate.  This mail will be marked REFUSED and returned to sender.

Jail Visitation

Effective June 12, 2006

Visitation days are as follows:

Male Huber - Sunday 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Male Ordinary - Thursday 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

All Females - Saturday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Inmate visitation rules are as follows:

All visitors must be Pre-Approved prior to being allowed visitation.  The inmate is responsible for completing a Pre-Approved Visitor Form for each individual they choose to have on their visitation list.  They are allowed a maximum of four individuals on their list at any given time.  The inmate's minor children don't count towards their maximum.

Approved visitors must call 746-2400 to schedule a visit in advance, requests received after noon on the day of visitation will be denied.

Each inmate is allowed two visitors per visitation day.  The visitation time slots will go to the first two people who set up their visitation time.

Visitors must be at the jail at their assigned times,
visitors showing up late or without a scheduled visit will be denied.

A parent or guardian must accompany visitors under the age of 18.

Visits shall be a maximum of thirty (30) minutes.

Inmates that are to be held less than twenty-four (24) hours, are awaiting bail hearings, other initial appearances or are temporarily in transit will not be allowed visitation privileges.

Former inmates of the Door County Jail may not visit until 30 days has elapsed since their release.

No items for inmates will be accepted during visitation, items may be dropped off at the Door County Jail, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Commissary


All checks or money orders must be made out to the Door County Jail.  The inmates name must be clearly marked on the check or money order.  Deposits in the form of cash, check or money orders will be accepted at the jail lobby window during normal business hours Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Deposits in the form of check or money orders may be mailed to the Door County Jail, Attention Commissary Clerk at 1203 S. Duluth Avenue, Sturgeon Bay WI 54235.
Posting Bond


The Door County Jail accepts cash, cashiers check, money order or credit card for bond payment.  Bonds may be posted anytime by coming to the Jail which is located at 1203 S. Duluth Avenue, Sturgeon Bay or at the Door County Clerk of Courts Office during normal business hours Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


If you are paying by credit card, please be sure that you are authorized to use that card.  For your protection, you must bring in the credit card and another form of ID so the signature on the credit card can be verified. 


Please note:  the company which handles credit card bond posting, Paytrust Solutions, Inc., does assess a non-refundable handling fee for using their services.
Fingerprinting Hours

Fingerprinting hours are as follows:
Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. AND 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
There is a $25 fee for processing applicant fingerprints
