Correctional Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
CERT was implemented in 2006 for the purpose of handling emergencies which may arise within the Door County Jail which may be beyond the abilities of the on-shift deputies.  Such emergencies include disturbance resolution, cell extractions, hostage situations, barricaded subjects, riot control, and violent and/or high profile inmate movement.

The team is comprised of highly motivated deputies who are on-call to respond at anytime.  They are regularly and highly trained in all aspects of the use of force, including a variety of specialized weaponry, tactical equipment, entry techniques, stabilizing techniques, and aftercare considerations.

The overall goal of the team is to ensure that the safety, security, control, and order are maintained within the correctional facility.
